Level 2 Certificate of Competence in Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-cutting 0039-20 (formerly CS30)

This course is for anyone needing to use a chainsaw at work (especially on other peoples property). A person may wish to progress through City & Guilds NPTC chainsaw unit Maintenance of Petrol Driven Chainsaws, Healthy and Safety, PPE, Safe Working and Cross-cutting and Manual Handling.

Objectives:

  • Be able to work safely
  • Be able to carry out maintenance of chainsaw and cutting system
  • Be able to carry out operational chainsaw checks
  • Know relevant health and safety legislation and industry good practice
  • Know how to carry out maintenance of chainsaw and cutting system
  • Be able to work safely
  • Be able to cross-cut timber using a chainsaw
  • Know relevant health and safety legislation and industry good practice
  • Know how to cross-cut timber using a chainsaw

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Chainsaw Trousers – Class 1 type A (front protection) or C (all around protection), Chainsaw Boots, Head Protection – to include head, ear and eye protection and Chainsaw Gloves       

 Equipment: Chainsaw, fuel/oil and maintenance tools

Time: 9.00am - 4.00pm

Duration:   2 days  -  independent assessment is arranged after the training has been completed.
