Level 2 Certificate of Competence in Tree Climbing and Aerial Rescue 0039-22 (formerly CS38)

This course is for anyone needing to be trained to climb trees and perform aerial rescues.

Objectives:

  • Be able to work safely
  • Be able to access a tree using a rope and harness
  • Know relevant health and safety legislation and industry good practice
  • Know how to access a tree using a rope and harness
  • Be able to promote health and safety and industry good practice
  • Be able to carry out aerial rescue operations
  • Understand relevant health and safety legislation and industry good practice
  • Understand how to carry out aerial rescue operations

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):  Appropriate footwear this being either walking boots which are sturdy or steel toe cap working boots. Clothing this should be snag proof outdoor clothing and a helmet with chin strap

Equipment: Harness, Climbing rope approx 30metres, Min of 4 karabiners triple action, Adjustable strop / lanyard, 2 tape slings small – medium Pair of climbing irons (spikes), Wire cord flip line. All must have current LOLER certificate

Time:  9:00am - 4:00pm

Duration: 5 days  -  The independent assessment is arranged after the training has been completed. (on a separate date)
