Level 3 Award in Severing Uprooted or Windblown Trees Using a Chainsaw 002102 (formerly CS34, CS35)

This course is for anyone who needs to deal with wind-blown trees.

Objectives:

  • Be able to promote health and safety and industry good practice
  • Be able to sever uprooted and wind blown trees using a chainsaw
  • Understand relevant health and safety legislation and industry good practice
  • Understand how to sever uprooted or windblown trees using a chainsaw

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Chainsaw Trousers – Class 1 type A (front protection) or C (all around protection), Chainsaw Boots, Head Protection – to include head, ear and eye protection and Chainsaw Gloves

 Equipment: Chainsaw, fuel and oil, tool belt with tape, hammer & wedges, 1.6 tonne winch, compactable slings and auxiliary equipment

Duration: 2-3 days depending on the experience and the severity of the 'wind blown site'. - The independent assessment will be arranged after the training is completed (on a separate date)
